The Grind
About This Spot
Stepping into The Grind, you're greeted by a warm hum of quiet conversations and the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Nestled on Willey Street in Morgantown, this espresso bar and café carries the feel of a neighborhood gathering spot where mornings unfold at their own easy pace, and each cup seems to promise a small moment of comfort.
The atmosphere is unpretentious but intentionally cozy, with a friendly crew whose energy gently lifts the mood without overwhelming the space. It’s the kind of place where baristas know your name – or at least your order – and where the customer’s relaxed smile blends seamlessly with the buzz of espresso machines and the soft clinking of cups.
Food and drink here feel thoughtfully crafted, from the rich, layered maple latte topped with delicate heart latte art to the breakfast sandwiches that arrive fresh and satisfying, striking a balance that is both familiar and a little special. The bagels, paired with just-right cream cheese and perfectly crackling eggs, speak to a simple dedication that customers keep coming back for, finding something that feels both homey and carefully considered.
The Grind’s pace invites you to slow down or pick up, whether you’re grabbing a quick iced coffee midday or lingering over a cappuccino while catching up with friends. The menu leans toward approachable, comforting options, with enough variety to satisfy different tastes while staying true to its genuine, unhurried vibe.
What stands out most is the blend of upbeat friendliness and the understated care woven through every interaction. It’s a thoughtful corner in the daily rhythms of Morgantown where the coffee is good, the atmosphere welcoming, and the small details—like that perfectly made mocha or the warm smiles behind the counter—make all the difference in those everyday moments.

We got a late start this morning and wanted a quick breakfast sandwich or bagel. The Grind delivered delicious breakfast sandwiches at almost 1 PM. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our meal. Five star service. All three of us were happy with our food and drinks. One of us got the bagel with maple cream cheese which was on point. That maple cream cheese was just right! The other two of us got breakfast sandwiches on Kaiser rolls. The rolls were soft and fresh and the meats, etc were tasty. We also tried the Brown Russian espresso drink and it was one of the best iced espresso drinks I’ve ever had. It is sweet but it was like a caffeinated dessert treat. We will definitely be back when traveling.

Great tasting breakfast sandwich. The bagel, eggs and bacon were all delicious. The iced coffee was very good. The maple added the perfect amount of sweetness. Only negative would be the size of the coffee for the price paid. Other than that is was an enjoyable experience.

The people working are super friendly! The whole crew working Saturday 06/21 was so positive and made the atmosphere feel so welcoming! Not to mention the food was so good. Never tried taziki but I love theirs! My boyfriend got the big Jam and he loved it. Cooked perfectly! Mind you it didn’t take long AT ALL for any of the things we ordered. The coffee was amazing too. Get a mocha they are phenomenal. Look at this chocolate milkshake! It’s delicious! Seriously come here!!!

Excellent coffee, welcoming atmosphere. Terrific option for a reasonably priced (build your own) breakfast sandwich. My only suggestion would be a whole grain bread option for the sandwiches.

I stopped by The Grind during a visit to Morgantown and tried their egg sandwich—absolutely delicious! The flavors were spot on, and everything tasted so fresh. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made the experience even better. If you’re in the area, this is definitely a must-visit spot for breakfast or a quick bite. I’ll make it a point to come back next time I’m in town!

This is probably my favorite spot in Morgantown. Their Bacon, Egg & Cheese is the closet rival to Tudors in the whole state. Coffee is always on point as well as the customer service. Their staff cares about the product they put out and it’s VERY obvious from the awesome vibes they have inside the shop. Such a fun, welcoming atmosphere for any level of coffee enjoyment! Highly recommend to anyone in the area! (Milky Joe is the bomb btw)

THE VEGAN EGG AND SAUSAGE BAGEL WAS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS IVE EVER EATEN. I’m not exaggerating. I would visit this town again just to get my hands on one of these. The staff here was very welcoming and kind, too! Thank you for having a delicious vegan option!
